Transportation Information
TO / FROM DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The Boulder SuperShuttle provides hourly shuttle service between Denver International Airport (DIA) and Boulder. The Shuttle follows an hourly schedule, leaving DIA 10 minutes past each hour, every hour, and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. Reservations are not required nor made for service from DIA only. However, you will need to purchase a ticket from the Boulder SuperShuttle booth (Level 5 near the baggage claim) at the airport before boarding. Reservations need to be made for your return trip to DIA, and we will assist you with that.
The cost of the Boulder SuperShuttle from DIA to the Boulder Outlook Hotel and Suites and for a return trip is $22 each way. If you depart from COMET to DIA on your return trip, the cost of the Shuttle is $28. The SuperShuttle phone number is 1 303 227-0000 for information on transport from the Boulder area only.
TO / FROM COMET EVERYDAY
Minivans or other vehicles will be available for the students staying at the designated hotel(s). These vehicles are primarily to be used for carpooling to and from COMET. These vehicles are not for personal use but can be used by the group for dinner and other local outings. Please read the COMET Van Usage Policy for more information.
GETTING AROUND BOULDER and DENVER
The Boulder/Denver area has an extensive public transportation system called the Regional Transportation District (RTD). A list of their routes along with maps is located on their web site. You may also get some bus schedules in the lobby of UCAR in Building FL2.
There is also a nationally renowned scenic bike path along Boulder Creek and around much of the city of Boulder. There are maps of the bike path in the classroom or a member of the Admin staff would be happy to find one for you. UCAR maintains a fleet of "Blue Bikes"--bicycles for UCAR staff and visitors. Visitors are welcome to check-out a bike while they are in Boulder.
