Advanced Training Workshops

WDTB's Advanced Training Workshops such as the Warning Decision Making II (WDMII) are also 3 1/2 day events held at COMET. The agendas and presentations of WDMII are coordinated with WSR-88D users from the field and "experts" where appropriate. The focus is on a higher level of use and understanding of the radar in a forecast or warning environment. The format is a relaxed atmosphere where users can present significant meteorological events they experienced and discuss with their peers the operation of the WSR-88D during those events. The WDMII workshops use "Train-the-Trainer" concepts, and provide attendees with the materials and background to deliver training to their office staffs upon their return.
