Severe Weather/Flash Flood Workshops
WDTB's Severe Weather/Flash Flood Workshop is a 4 day event held
at COMET. The agendas and presentations of WDM are coordinated with WSR-88D
users from the field and "experts" where appropriate. The focus is on a higher
level of use and understanding of the radar in a forecast or warning environment.
The format is a relaxed atmosphere where users can present significant meteorological
events they experienced and discuss with their peers the operation of the WSR-88D
during those events. The WDM workshops use "Train-the-Trainer" concepts, and
provide attendees with the materials and background to deliver training to their
office staffs upon their return.
