02-1 15 - 19 October 2001 Heavy Precipitation & Flash Flooding
TRAVEL/PRE-COURSE INFORMATION
Updated 10 October 2001: You are required
to attend the entire class. On the last day you will be able to take the Airport
SuperShuttle directly from the COMET facility at 10:30. This will get you to

needed for the check-in process. Thus, the earliest flight departure times
for class members should be about 3:05.

Course Materials for the Heavy Precipitation and Flash Flooding Symposia
These COMAP Symposia address quantitative precipitation forecasts and estimation (QPF and QPE) for intense, short-duration events that may result in flash flooding. The most recent advances in remote sensing of precipitation, small-scale precipitation physics, NWP and flash flood hydrology will be discussed. The symposia will provide a forum to foster the exchange of ideas about forecasting technique and training.
