An example of a radar limitation
** Storm top height ambiguities **
This figure is a time trace of radar observed storm tops for a supercell tracking north between Dallas and Oklahoma City (Zaras et. al., 1997). Note how the storm top is discretized to the centerline of the radar beams. There are uncertainties of greater than 10 kft.
