Satellite Meteorology Network Resources

Melanie Wetzel and Stan Kidder

Create and maintain a local web page HTML document that you can use at the office to enhance your access to satellite imagery and satellite data products.

  1. You can best use web pages if your office has a computer running Netscape that is available to all staff. Talk with your SOO and/or regional office for assistance. For the sake of this exercise, you will assume this has been done.
  2. Follow the lab exercise on creating a web page.
  3. Include important informational links like the GOES bulletins and satellite discussion text. Also consider which documentation is needed, such as TA reports, basic channel info, etc.
  4. Test it out so that a staff member can get what they need in five minutes or less.
  5. Write an on-line help file which gives staff quick pointers on the local procedures to use for accessing the pages.
