There are the remnants of former hurricane, Edouard, off the coast of Maine as well. At this scale of imagery, you can see the size or extent of hurricanes in relation to continental landmasses.

• Hurricane Fran’s spiral bands become more defined
• Former Hurricane Edouard’s eye is broad and diffuse

• Hurricane Fran upgrades from category 1 to
  category 2 (Saffir-Simpson scale)
