GOES Images

The GOES imager senses electromagnetic energy at five different wavelengths. Throughout this laboratory exercise we will concentrate on two wavelengths whose imagery are most commonly shown on weather broadcasts. The visible (VIS) wavelength (can be seen by the human eye) and infrared (IR) wavelength are represented by the images shown here. These images were taken at the same time.
