Proposal Information

Proposals (5/8/08): All 2008 funds have been expended, and we do not anticipate having more funding until early next year. If you've started a Partners proposal already, you may go ahead and submit it; we will hold it until we have funds. Please contact the Outreach Program Manager, Vickie Johnson, if you have any questions.

Partners projects are limited to one year in length and funding requests less than $12,000. Proposals can be submitted any time (when funds are available) and are reviewed by NWS and COMET staff and outside experts as they are received. Cooperative projects are usually 1-3 years in length, with an average award of about $35,000 per year. Cooperative project proposals can only be submitted in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) and are reviewed by a panel of experts.

Please note that the most important feature of any Outreach project is collaborative research. Proposals that do not include a significant role for the NWS partner are unlikely to be funded.
