Case Summary

This case covers a wide range of convective weather extending from Texas and Oklahoma to Tennesee and Alabama. During this time period a tornado touched down in Jarrell, TX and squall lines, bow echoes and other MCS were observed over the southeastern US. This data was used in the COMET teletraining Anticipating Storm Evolution: A Case Study Exercise.

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, FL has summarized the severe weather that affected southern Georgia and
northern Florida on this day. The interaction of the thunderstorms that developed with the east and west coast sea breezes caused severe thunderstorms to occur. Their summary page includes products that were issued on that day.
