This Case Study Library (CSL), consisting of software, meteorological data, and documentation, was developed by the National Weather Service (NWS) and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research/Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology, Education and Training (UCAR/COMET).
Access to and the use of this CSL shall impose the following obligations on the user. The user is granted the right, without any fee or cost, to use, copy, modify, alter, and enhance this CSL for any purpose whatsoever, except commercial sales, provided that this entire notice appears on all copies of the CSL. This CSL or any part thereof shall not be distributed or disseminated without the express written consent of UCAR. Further, the user shall credit UCAR in any publications, presentations, or other derivative works that result from the use of this CSL. The name UCAR shall not be used in any advertising or publicity to endorse or promote any products or any commercial entity unless specific written permission is granted from UCAR. UCAR is not obligated to provide any support, consulting, training, or assistance of any kind with regard to the use of this CSL nor to provide any updates, revisions, or new versions.
This CSL is provided by UCAR "as is" and any express or implied warranties, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed. In no event shall the NWS and UCAR be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to claims associated with the loss of data or profits, which may result from an action in tort, contract, negligence, products liability, or other claim that arises out of or in connection with the access, use, or performance of this CSL.
The user acknowledges that this CSL (including but not
limited to, software, meteorological data, and documentation) is subject to U.S. export
laws and regulations and any use or transfer of this CSL must be authorized under those
regulations. The user shall not use, distribute, transfer, or transmit the CSL (even if
incorporated into other products) except in compliance with U.S. export regulations. If
requested by the NWS or UCAR, the user also agrees to sign written assurances and other
export-related documents as may be required to comply with U.S. export regulations.
