13-15 March 2002 - Narrow Frontal Snowband
Summary
On 13-15 March 2002, a Narrow Frontal Snowband event resulted in a large gradient in snowfall amounts south of the band of heavy snow. This case provides a challenging forecasting scenario for issuing winter storm warnings because snowfall amounts varied by 6 or more inches over distances of 20-40 miles.
