A Partners Project to study ordinary citizens' understandings of, and responses to, everyday weather information and forecast products has been completed and the final report is now available. The basic goal of this pilot study was to provide an understanding of the end-user of NWS products with the intent to apply the results to improving communication practices in everyday forecasting, emergency weather warnings, and communications in general. The main focus was to study whether the general approach that the NWS takes to meteorological communication is suited to the way in which citizens understand and use weather information and forecasts.
