This session focuses on ecological aspects of wildland fires in the east and how remote sensing and simulation modeling can be applied to the issue. Specially, we shall address Wildland fire and biodiversity in the east, wildland fire and eastern invasive species, fire and aquatic biodiversity, remote sensing and modeling of habitat change and trends, and decision support systems for wildlife and fish management before, during, and after fires.
