Learn Python-AWIPS

 

Course Description

The python-awips package provides a data access framework for requesting meteorological and geographic datasets from an AWIPS Environmental Data EXchange (EDEX) server. Python-AWIPS expands the visualization and analysis options of AWIPS CAVE by bringing resources into Python, enabling the use of popular scientific tools such as SciPy, MetPy, and Cartopy. This course will introduce you to the basic concepts of working with this package to access, manipulate, and plot resources.

 

Intended Audience

The lesson is intended for anyone interested in creating Python-based workflows for analyzing and visualizing data stored in an AWIPS EDEX server.
