High-Latitude Satellite Products Reference Guide

 

Course Description

The High-Latitude Satellite Products Reference Guide provides information about five commonly used, high-latitude relevant satellite products from GEO and LEO satellites: 

  • Day Snow Fog RGB
  • Blowing Snow RGB
  • Snowmelt RGB
  • Day Cloud Type/Day Cloud Phase Distinction RGB
  • Nighttime Microphysics RGB

Each product has a description, tips for interpreting and using it effectively, a list of its capabilities, limitations, and caveats, and practice exercises. The guide is meant to be used as reference material and does not include a quiz.

 

Intended Audience

Operational forecasters, specifically those who forecast for regions including high-latitude regions.
